Holiday family time is among us. We want to create wonderful memories, and avoid the frustration family time also brings. Schaumburg boasts many family-friendly activities (and fun couple’s date ideas too). Here we’ve compiled our three favorite restaurants that offer a great dining experience, while keeping your kids entertained.
Rainforest Cafe
Even as an adult, this is one of my favorite restaurants. Take your children on a jungle adventure at the Rainforest Cafe, located at the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg. Rainforest Cafe is a jungle-themed restaurant that makes for an exciting meal with the whole family. Inside the restaurant is a world full of exotic animals, a forest-like environment, and fun, themed menu to go with. Kids can take photos with the life-sized animals placed around the restaurant, or wear a frog hat while they color. Rainforest Cafe also hosts birthday parties for kids which includes a large brunch menu, kids activities, and a safari hat for all attendees.
Pilot Pete’s
You can see that a fun atmosphere is the theme when it comes to our favorite kid-friendly restaurants in Schaumburg. Pilot Pete’s calls itself the “Chicagoland’s Aviation Themed Eatery” for more than the airplane references scattered throughout the menu. This restaurant has airplane-themed decor, and what kid doesn’t think flying is cool? In addition, if you have a window seat, there is a chance you’ll see an airplane or two land at the O’hare International Airport.
2Toots Train Whistle Grill
Do you have a kid who loves trains, or just looking for a different kind of dinner experience? 2 Toots Train Whistle Grill is about 20 minutes from Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg (although located in Bartlett), and it is worth a try! Order with your server when you’re seated, and then wait for a small train to deliver your food. Grab a seat by the tracks if you want to experience all the train action. In addition, 2 Toots Train Whistle Grill boasts a fun kids birthday club. Sign up the birthday club online or at any location, and your child will receive a coupon for a free sundae with a train toy on their birthday.
