McHenry has an estimated population of 27,135 residents. The city was once the county seat of McHenry County, but that title has since been taken by the city of Woodstock.
McHenry is known for its beautiful landscapes and many outdoor activities. The eastern side of the city is home to the Fox River, while the city itself is surrounded by hills, gravel banks, streams, lakes, and even glaciers.
In terms of cultural activities, McHenry does not disappoint. The city hosts Fiesta Days and the McHenry Music Fest every year. Residents also enjoy a moderate cost of living, a diverse population, and relatively safe neighborhoods.
